Omigod... WHAT are those brown turd spots?? And WHY???

HorribleLicensePlates said...

At least they got a cute snow man. The rest, I agree, is a mess.

Unknown said...

I'm curious to see if the store is selling the cake as a deli rotisserie chicken.

Anonymous said...

Why cook dinner when you can have our rotisserie chicken with rosemary buttercream icing? Ewwwwwwwww. That is plain vile.

shadow said...

I can't decide which baffles me more: the brown sky-smudges, or the chicken label! O_O

Anonymous said...

At least the decorator has the correct apostrophe. And the snowman's kind of cute.
The sticker label is the crowning jewel here, IMHO.

Word verification: hamenthy, which I'm pretty sure is the correct name for when a store employs stickers from the meat department for products from the bakery.

Andrea said...

The Snowman is adorable, though!!!!!

mmm chicken...

Arlynn said...

Ha! This is truly a great one. I think maybe my favorite holiday cake yet. Especially with that chicken label : )

ME! said...

Let us snow. How do I go about doing that? Perhaps after I eat this chicken I'll know.

Megan said...

So is that chicken under the frosting? Eew!

Caitie Miller said...

Haha the chicken label just totally makes this!

Anonymous said...

Chicken label..on a cake?

What is the world coming to??

Cute snowman though!

Anonymous said...

Ha ha ha or should I say ah ah ah? I'm trying really hard to snow but it's not happening. I really wanted to join in with the request on this cake.

Monique in TX said...

You forgot the poor spacing, causing the word "snow" to be all drifted to one o'clock position. The label? That, I think, is a Kroger label. All of their bakery products have an ad for a rotisserie chicken dinner at the top. The label will have the actual product info below the chicken ad--it just doesn't show in the photo. But yes, the juxtaposition is weird. Word: bratepp--a sitcom episode in which the usually-too-cute child is obnoxious because they have a Problem which only Dad can fix with his charming, folksy wisdom

Misspellings? Check.
("Smow", arguably...)

If someone could combine the awesomeness of iced cookie and tasty chicken, I'd buy it.

Justine said...

Ooo baby, after we feast upon this freshly roasted chicken and sugar laden hydrogenated vegatable oil pesudo icing product, we shall make use of this home's two sumptuous bathrooms and "smow" like no two people have ever "smowed" before. Which wine shall we have? The Mad Dog 20/20 Blue or the Boone's Farm Hot Pink?

E.A.D. said...

Frosted Chicken, mmmmmmmm. Not!

BellaLovesPink said...

Maybe it's a rotisserie chicken flavored cake. And is the snowman floating on a cloud?

The Archduchess said...

I would like to mention that Kroger (which is where the sticker came from) labels everything with an ad for rotisserie chicken at the top of the sticker. Why they do that is beyond be, but rest assured it wasn't a labeling error.

However, speeelinge = bad, "punktyashun..." = badder, airbrush poop = baddest. There is no way around that.

Anonymous said...

I am thinking that the brown is smog, lol.

@wendydesigns said...

Meatcake! My favorite!

Anonymous said...

Wow. Now you've got me craving that really good Moroccan dish that happens to have chicken, almonds, and powdered sugar in it. Not this, though.

Jess said...

The chicken label takes the cake!! I had to say it!

Anonymous said...

Is this a cookie, too? It's hard to believe that anyone would put that much icing on a cookie, let alone eat it. Still, if it's a chicken that's iced....

Debbie said...

I think this is a cookie, not a cake, and the brown is where the frosting is *thin* (imagine that, underfrosted rather than over) and the cookie shows through. Just a thought.

Malibu Niki said...

I think the snowman is throwing up his arms in a shrug, as in, "I don't know what's going on here, either."

Anonymous said...

I'm pretty sure the brownish tinges to the "sky" isn't added. It looks like the top of the cake underneath showing through where the frosting coverage is particularly sparse.

Scritzy said...

Let's smow?

I think that's illegal in my state.

Debbi said...

Almost sounds a wee bit naughty ...

Unknown said...

Y'all neglected to mention the horrible depiction of ground snow.
Word verification: REUCE, which is defined as "chicken-flavored cake."

Anonymous said...

maybe they rust ran out of blue icing and stretched the bit they still had... and maybe it still wasn't enough to cover all of the cake, so the brown smudges are just the actual cake (chicken?) showing through?
though if that was the case, they could have just dyed some of the snow blue and used it for the sky.

and as for the punctuation and the "snow" - well, i can't come up with an explanation for those.

Let's snow?

Hehe, I'm like Calvin in Calvin and Hobbes, trying to light up like a firefly — "I don't even know which muscle to flex!"

And... it's possible that's not airbrush smog. Maybe it's mold. ;)

Anonymous said...

While I agree that it's more "let's smow" than "let's snow," I don't quite catch the excess punctuation reference (since "Let's snow" is, surprisingly enough, correct, being a contraction of "Let us snow" -- which is what one assumes the decorator meant). Could someone please clarify what I am missing?

Anna M. said...

To me it looks like they put the top from a chicken container on the cake box, and the brown spots are actually chicken juice that was on the top.

Anonymous said...

59, the decorator deserves a foul for excessive use of periods, as the legend transcribes to "... Let's snow .." [or smow, as it seems to appear]... (Sorry, just had to use an ellipsis... Argh! Now I can't stop...)

Rucifey said...

59,
I think that the excess punctuation reference is refering to the "...Let's Snow.." (minus the quotes).

Denise said...

Your comments actually made me laugh/snort. Thanks so much.

Poor little polluted snowdude.

Anonymous said...

Does everything taste like chicken? Even snowmen? This cake would be great if the Winter Olympics were in Beijing.

Anonymous said...

You're right, 59. The punctuation is actually correct, contracting "let US snow".

Although why anyone would want to do such a thing (or smow) is truly beyond me.

Anonymous said...

Hey 59,

I wasn't sure everyone would notice the three periods before and two periods after the wording but I think Jen knew that if she didn't point it out, someone else would.

It does make one curious though. If the punctuation is correct but the grammar is wrong overall, does it still count?

Example: Let's flood.

...just a thought..

Maybe it's not really a cake, but a frosted rotisserie chicken!

Umm....Let's snow? And why is there a chicken sticker on a cake? Did someone frost a chicken??

You know, it's kind of a shame... the snowman himself is actually pretty cute. Maybe you could just scrape off all the rest of the crap.

I have been a fan for a while...This blog always gives me a good laugh while I am down. I saw the deli thought it was a chicken. HAHA!

I am crying laughing so hard and my toddler is looking at me like I lost my mind. This is SO funny. I love this blog!!!!!!

I had to respond to the rotisserie chicken! I'm fairly certain this cake was sold at a Safeway (where I work :P), and we have ads for our chickens (which are delicious) on everything from the hummus in the deli, to the boxes of cookies in the bakery, to the plastic cups of watermelon in produce! And I'd bet money that the cookie-cake was decorated by one of the baggers - not the actual decorator!

Anonymous said...

OMG!!!! I realize that someone already pointed this out and that it happend like 3 months ago but it is a freaking advertisement for the store's chicken, they have it on all of their baked goods. I agree that its odd but I've seen more than one cake n this sit that had that sticker just not a close up shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

lmao for those of you still not caught up.

1. The proper grammar would be more like Let It Snow.
2. Excess punctuation refers to the 3 periods before Let's and the 2 after Snow (I'll be nice and consider smow a stretch.)
3. Has no one noticed the snowman is standing in another larger snowman's poop?!

...Get's with the Pmogram People..:P love from Allie

p.s. yeah they have those labels here too, just badly placed advertising! lol

VeggieT said...

Yes, Let's snow! and then after that let's shotgun!

Unknown said...

When in doubt, label everything!

Now I'm wondering if any of the store's chickens are labled as cakes, and if they too are attempting to "smow".

WV" "bridablue" - how a bride feels when she first sees her "designer" (wrecked) wedding cake.

I personally like the intestines at the bottom of the cake.

OMG, I saw the word "Chicken" on the label and I swear for a second I thought it was a CHICKEN CAKE.
