Every now and then, we get comments from readers that go something like this:
Well today, in honor of our friend Neil over at 1000 Awesome Things and the rest of you positive Pollyannas, we picked out a few Wrecks from our arsenal - and we're going to find something awesome to say about each and every one of them. Even if it kills us. Which, let's be honest, is entirely possible.
Ready?
*pulling up happy pants*
Here we GOOOO!
Noisemakers!
I love noisemakers.
Not that you'd want to put these in your mouth, of course, considering where they've been...but, uh...yeah. Noisemakers are awesome.
Not straining while cutting the cheese? You guessed it: AWESOME.
Alright, now we're on the home stretch! [rubbing hands together] Bring on the final contender!
[thinking]
[thinking]
[despairing]
Ok, I think I got it:
You tell me.
I've already read it, and believe me, it lives up to its name. And speaking of names, mine's on the back cover. So that's worth the purchase price right there. (Did I mention it's also half off on Amazon right now? Yeah. That helps.)
Now go forth, and comment! Whoever makes me laugh the hardest wins the glory, while two randomly selected commenters will actually win a personalized and signed copy of The Book of Awesome. I'll even have Neil do the personalizing and signing. [waggling eyebrows]
Oh, and Neil is willing to ship anywhere in the world. So Estonia, I'm looking at you.
Chloe, Tosha B., Anony M., Molly C., Jeff H., & Rachel V., go make me proud.
- Related Wreckage: The #2 Way to Ruin a Cake
[John's rule type stuff]
When you comment, be sure to put your name. If your name is something boring like John, be sure to follow it up with something creative like (the hubby of Jen). Or, ya know, your last name. And remember, we're picking two winners at random so if you happen to be painfully unfunny like me, you can still win. Winners will be announced at 2pm (Eastern) on Friday. Finally, if you don't win, you should still buy the book. We could all stand to focus a little more on the awesome in life. Good luck and Wreck On!
UPDATE: We have our winners! (See the top of this post.) Thanks, everyone; your comments have been the best free entertainment I've had all week. ;)

«Oldest ‹Older 1001 – 1200 of 2207 Newer› Newest»Well...you got a lot of ideas from all those comments from your fans about the shiny crap on the pretty marble slab. Lot and lots of fans...tons of fans = AWESOME!!!!
It is shiney, and reflects the light nicely. Also, the light reflection makes the marble underneath it, look super classy...
Charlotte McGuire
I don't have anything funny to say, but I'd like a chance to win the book because *I* am awesome!
Hmmm... Maybe it wasn't such a great idea to use my 3rd wish to turn EVERYTHING into chocolate after all. Oh well. Really hammers home the sentiment, "Be careful what you wish for..." And a reinforced proverb - THAT'S pretty awesome.
--Veronica L.
It looks a lot like my favorite tile! I spend hours every day looking at that tile and thinking, "Gosh! I wish everyone else could see a tile just like it!" And now they can! Of course, I'm not going to take a tile out of my bathroom just to show it to people, so this is the next best thing.

5 AWESOME THINGS ABOUT THE PILE-O-POO CAKE
oooh ... shiny! Shiny things are awesome!
Brown... I love brown! Brown is awesome!
Marble! Marble is an excellent surface to use for making candy! Candy is awesome!
The icing kinda looks like the ganache they use on eclairs, and eclairs are definitely awesome!
And finally: Chocolate... chocolate is the epitome of awesomeness!
So honestly, that last cake isn't that bad! It is an awesome likeness to the worst diarrhea-heap of... well, you know what! I don't think anyone could produce a cake that looked so positively fluid, and that... is awesome! Imagine the hours it took to create this masterpiece, the blood sweat and tears that went into it. The baker of this brown beauty deserves a bust, a pedestal and his own Hall of Fame!
I wish I had the kind of talent to make a cake like that...
The mouse hole at the bottom leads me to believe that it is an edible critter house and meal in one. We like things that can serve multiple purposes.
I could see how awesomely shiny that frosting was, even through the wracking sobs and my soul dying a bit.
My name is Traci Olsen and I approve this message.
It's really shiny, and shiny is good. Right? And the marble slab has such beautiful...marbling!
It's shiny! Another shiny thing is a diamond! And diamonds are, of course, awesome!
So, the marble slab is awesom, which many people have noted, but I don't that everyone truly appreciates the little "window" at the bottom so you can see what kind of cake it is. Now THAT takes skill. Try it the next time you dump shellac on a cake and see if you can create such an awesome window on your first try. Yeah, good luck with that.
~Katrina H - Seattle, WA
The last cake generates warmth... from the bottom.... of my heart.
Rochelle Heyboer
If you look with your eyes squinted you can see a chocolate covered Buddha. Love you website.
Marta
No maggots or flies. Dripping piles of poo that are clean enough not to have either are... uh... awesome?
Liz (the ice cream girl)
Look how skillful they have been in keeping the 'brown stuff' on the slab and look, just look, at how wonderful and shiney it is, you could see your face in that I'll bet :-0 oooo oooo oooo and HOW do you get that peak effect, I wish I could do that .... skill
"Look what I made, Annie!" exclaims Helen Keller.
Samantha (Rudy's mom)
I can't smell that in a photo! That's AWESOME!
Alli, anyone?
--Samantha (Rudy's mom)
Well if it hadn't been for the leaky toilet upstairs...the 1-eyed baker wouldn't have acrobatically slipped on the floor subsequently discharging chocolate all over his "masterpiece".
Not having to clearly see a "Bloated Samurai Soldier" = AWESOME!
Judy Christensen
As long as it's cake...Im sure it still tastes great!
That cake is melting. Obviously. It's hard to imagine what it would look like without it sitting directly in front of that AC unit in the background. You know, that makes me think! Summer is hot. I hate being hot... I always feel like I'm melting into a puddle of, well, whatever that is... Thank goodness for AC. Air conditioners are totally awesome.
My, what a glistening pile of...ganache!
Ummm... it's shiny! It's a shiny pile of... shiny!
And shiny is awesome, right? No... no, wait, that would mean you'd have mucus in your... shiny would be bad... no, no- Shiny would be an AWESOME way to diagnose... uh, Crohn's disease?
Look how perfectly shiny and smooth that frosting came out. Someone must do that a regular basis. What a great way to flush out the good frosters from the dumpy ones. I already gave a #1 to a previous cake so I will have to give this one a #2.
Misty Stuckwisch
First, it's chocolate, and that in and of itself is awesome enough... BUT, and it's a big BUT, if you look at the side, there is what appears to be a little cave entrance, and the only thing that can live in a little chocolate cave would be a little chocolate bear, and perhaps it would be a chocolate covered gummy bear, which sounds kind of icky, but in reality is really really good! Therefore, awesome! :)
Such a beautiful creation, you wouldn't dare to step in ...err, I mean, eat it.
Allyson N
the shine alone on that cake!!! you can look into it and see reflections of all sorts of beauty....ya reflections....
ave riddler
It's awesome because it looks like a replica of "Devil's Tower" from Close Encounters of the Third Kind....A really, really shiny one!
Best rendition of Jabba the Crap I've ever seen.
Piles and piles of chocolate, and it's all mine! MariS
The glossy brown of the creation compliments the...transperancy of the air..
What's awesome is how easy the cake will be to move. No worrying that it will tip over or crumble even if taken on a cross country drive.
Lisa N
The cake itself was awesome. Of course it was a delicate, beautiful chocolate carving of the Buddha. Of course no one expected the supernova to occur right in the kitchen....
Elizabeth N.
bekochan@hotmail.com
Clearly an awe inspiring representation of a cubist beehive in
art deco styling!
Wow - I could actually replicate this and not have to bake - now that's awesome!
I'll tell you whats awesome about that cake. It makes me appreciate every nauseating, crisco frosted, rose shrouded bakery creation that I have ever been given.
You never know how good you have it until you see the (literal) pile of crap cake that someone else had to graciously accept.
That icing/ganache/sauce covering the cake is a great consistency and shiny!
It looks like something could be hiding inside that hole. It would be very exciting cut open and see what you discover.
The refrigerator must be kept at just the right temperature to keep that chocolate coating firm (the chocolate coating makes it go down easier...)and keeping the chocolate coating firm = awesome!
That cake is going to make the NEXT thing that goes on that marble slab look really good, and that is awesome, right? :)
It's shiny! Shiny makes me happy -- er, that's sunshine makes me happy.
The last cake reminds me of "Gloppy" the character from the Candy Land game. . . and Candy Land is awesome!
The reject moon pies had to go somewhere
I see you finished your prune shake with olestra. I like how you saved it on the marble to show everyone one a job well done!
Look at the sheen on the . . . frosting. That must be some awesomly tempered chocolate (Please gawd, let it be chocolate) to get a sheenlike that.
And the lighting - to capture that sheen - another glint of awesome.
Mrs. Campbell
Why... it's a study in contrasts. The stark contrast between the white marble and the black setting, the contrast between the regular lines and shape of the cake board to the... (please excuse me) *organic* feel of the "cake". Well, that's just awesome.
w.v.: surecker... ummm yeah. by chance the baker of that last item?
I think this POST was awesome!! Keep those AWeSOME cakes coming.
Hallmarkprincess
See the un-ganached space left on the bottom of the cake? It's a mouth! Which means one of two things: Either this is a living thing and can now make friends with B.O.B. from Monsters vs. Aliens - and friends are awesome! - or this cake will eventually consume itself, which will make it go away... which is also awesome!
I've heard the expression "your just shining a turd" before, but I've never seen anyone that could literally do it!!!
"no" quotation marks, no misspelled wurds, No MIx of LeTteR cAsEs, NO SPRINKLES.......AWESOME!!
Oh man... that chocolate is so shiny and pretty, it looks just like "Magic Shell".
Mmmmm.... Magic Shell... Now that's some happy memories!
Hmmm.
Ok, I got it: Chocolate contains Theobromine, which is a mild diuretic AND helps stimulate the kidneys... so this is a liquid output regularity cake!! How AWESOME is that?!
Amanda "pemberliegh" Russell
It's very shiny! Like a diamond and diamonda are AWESOME!
Sharon Fuller
The icing is very shiny. And the whole thing is kind of triangle-shaped, which is very Renaissance-y of them. Right?
What an awesome, beautiful shiny brown beehive! I bet chocolate covered bees live inside! And when you cut into it the bees sting you with AWESOME!
Wow~! Their child did a GREAT job on this cake! I wish MY 5 yr old could decorate with such talent, but of course, only a child would think of making a mountain cake and remember to include the opening for the cave in the bottom front. Nice detail and creativity! Awesome! A++ From Jennifer in Wisconsin.
The cake looks a little like a chocolate version of the leaning tower of Pisa. It's a leaning tower of cake - artistic!
The chocolate sheen on the last cake is amazing... It's like a enormous chocolate dipped ice cream, still glimmering in liquidy goodness. And to follow the theme of today, liquidy goodness is AWESOME.
How can you not love that last cake? It's the most beautiful, perfectly executed replica of a greater Eurasian cowpie flower I have ever seen in my life (and to be able to sculpt it in frosting--a-ma-zing!). I can see how you might not easily recognize it without the flower's distinctive pea-green, lumpy stalk and leaves attached, but you really need to learn your botany, Jen. For shame!
-Spoofmaster, aka Kathryn K.
The person who left that one must feel about 10 pounds lighter...and losing weight is AWESOME. sincerely, J Pagani
It's shiny and it looks like a beehive, how can it not be awesome? :)
-Stephanie Frey
Clan of the cave hair, I love your entry! So zen...
Oh, look at the lovely contrast of the dark cake on the light marble slab. So lovely!
Wow, that chocolate ganache is really poo-ling beautifully, isn't it?
Well it would be awesome if you had no teeth, it looks nice and soft!
It's chocolate. Pure and simple.
The best thing about that cake is the tiny (almost) secret cavern in the front that allows all the calories to seep out. Magic!
Leigh Ellen
It is so shiny. Shiny like something polished regularly, like something your gramma is fond of. Gramma's are awesome.
Its a great first attempt at a ganache cake for a culinary student!
Cass Laeng
That cake is awesome because today my husband is doing a seminar presentation on fecal bacteriotherapy...or what I like to call the poo poo transplant. This would be an awesome cake to give to him today.
The tiny hobbit hole at the base of the oozing poo allowed the poor cake to escape to another baker for proper icing! Awesome foresight on the part of the poo-er!
Lori Martin, Nevada City
Sh*t happens. Even in baking.
-Stephanie C.
I think it's awesome that they decided to commemorate little Billy's first birthday with a replica of his first poop. THAT is awesome!! Amy Johnson
That cake made me think two things:
1: Chocolate + shiny = ferret shock.
2: "It's got raisins in it. You like raisins!"
I thought Colette was a fairly rare first name, but I saw it here somewhere. With fingernails.
Well I'll be! That has to be the SHINIEST icing I've ever seen. I doo say!
That cake is awesome because today's my birthday, and let's face it, almost any cake on your birthday is going to be awesome! Not very funny, but true (it really is my birthday today)!
Angie Lanigan
Uhm...That the preservatives in that pile alone...it must be the fountain of youth, or poo...
Also, it's chocolate. That's positively awesome enough for me!
Kim Crist
It looks like it's made of chocolate cake, and who doesnt like chocolate cake?! Right?
It looks like it MIGHT be chocolate. And really fabulous chocolate is sometimes so good you would bathe in it or perhaps roll in it...which is what my dog does when he finds a pile like this in the yard!
Jenn Bostedo
Wow, I have never seen such a MOIST cake! That thing is like having your cake and icecream in one, served on a beautiful slab of marble... for ease of slicing through the crap...
oops
-Melanie Withrow
The one with the noisemakers....that one is to celebrate all the party poopers out there!
The last one it is great b/c no one is going to notice that my 3 yr old swiped his finger through the icing to get a taste!
Kari B.
It's awesome because chocolate is awesome, and Jabba the Hut is awesome. That cake must be full-on awesome, squared.
I find it AWESOME that despite the intense heat it was sitting in that made it melt it STILL resembles (in a morphed way) that loveable Buddha! Go Buddha go!
Renee/fireink14
Once it's sliced, it will look much more like a chocolate river and (hopefully) much less like a sewage treatment plant's overflowing lagoon.
Clearly they masterfully carved a scale-model version of Jabba the Hutt for a client, didn't think the world was ready for such perfection in cake, so they did Jabba the favor of wrapping him in ganache. Anything that lets us make Star Wars references? Awesome.
Emily Oliverius
That last pile of....cake....ummm it...ummm has....
well it's awesome....because...
uhhhh....
oh I know - It has an awesome sheen to it....yeah that's the ticket!
I have no ideas for anything positive about that last cake. Winning that book, however, would be awesome.
I can totally hear Homer Simpson in my head saying, "Mmmm...chocolate."
Better him than me, that's all I'm saying.
That last cake is an awesomely accurate rendition of a pile of poo. Most people only manage to suggest poo; this baker has really captured it.
The marble cake board is ... awesome!
I have to say that the marble base for that cake is lovely. Not quite lovely enough to offset the ickyness of the cake on top, but I love marble.
The icing is so shiny! So that means lubricant...lots of lubricant... and lubricant is AWESOME!
I think that it is great that the baker wasn't bound by societal norms that stifle creativity! Who wants a cake that is visually appealing. It has already been done.
The icing is so shiny! So that means lubricant...lots of lubricant... and lubricant is AWESOME!
That icing looks like semi-gloss paint. Semi-gloss paint is,
wait for it,
AWESOME!!
Bill in Hungary with the C-17.
Every pile of dung.. I mean cloud has a silver lining.. or in this case a very glossy surface providing a reflective flash to make AWESOME pictures in it.
http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii69/gr4fix/lionkingsilverlining.png
you can't tell me that's not AWESOME.
Look at how it swirls and flows. Obviously, creating this pile was no strain. And not straining while creating a pile of glossiness? Awesome!
Kathy Pucker
Well, I think it's awesomely topical that you've put a volcano cake on your blog, given the trouble the one in Iceland is causing Northern Europe. Except this one is chocolate and therefore edible. Yummmmmmmm! Dolphinwitchuk
Well, it looks like it's chocolate and chocolate is awesome!
Beth Hullett
Well, honestly it reminds me of something my step-daughter and I would make, as we're teaching ourselves to bake (she's nearly 12). Even when we suck, we're proud. I can just hear her, looking at this, with a smirk forming on her cute little face because she knows she can say "Oh crap", and not get in trouble!
Thanks for the opportunity to be creative! ~ Amy Hamar
That melting pile of chocolate is about to make the world's largest chocolate chip cookie, and that is AWESOME!
Liane Veenema
The cake looks like it's probably very chocolate-y. And very chocolate-y is ALWAYS a good thing, even if it doesn't look it.
Kathryn, AKA SproutMamaK
Wow, it's a cake version of the Rorschach ink blot test! Psychological testing is very expensive, so a self-test made of cake is AWESOME! You can see anything in it you want to, and then eat it! What could be more awesome than that?
Well, it looks like it's chocolate and chocolate is awesome!
Well, they did a super fantastic job of covering the cake board...that's awesome right? I mean have you ever tried to cover a cake board? Fancifoil, meh, and fondant can be some hard to work with, but melted poo frosting is really the perfect choice. Although I do have to say my favorite part is the tiny bit of cake that the melted poo frosting completely missed. Like a little mouse hole or sphincter. Nice..I mean AWESOME
I love how the reflection on the icing really brings out its great texture.
The ganache icing looks really AWESOMELY shiny. I can never get my ganache looking that shiny!
Tiffany K.
It is nice and SHINY!!! Shiny means pretty, right? I'm pretty sure it does. Yeah. Pretty sure. -Jennifer (Jingle)
I may not know you-know-what from Shineola, but I know a wreck when I see one. (Anything that lets me use that awesome phrase is awesome in my book.)
Awesomely, DJ
Ummmm...it's shiny. I like shiny things!
Ok, I'm just going for the random winner here. I'm not funny.
ChristinaB (aka cbarker78)
That cake is all sorts of ooey-gooey goodness. I don't think it's quite what the Diabetes Society ordered - but all that AWESOME chocolate has everyones sweet tooth exploding; that AWESOME marble slab so lovingly polished to a high shine; and finally the MOST AWESOME way they displayed the recreation of Michaelangelo's Statue of David under those HOT lights! So AWE-SOME!!!!
That Marble slab is awesomely white, and really offsets the "regular" cake that sits upon it like a "throne". So much better than a neat, errr no scratch that.... "tidy" bowl that some might use to display such an EXcellent cake. Now that their mountain of work is done, they can reLAX.
Wow, that cake is one "Awsom" BM...you know a Bumbled Monster...what'd you think I meant?
(get it, 'bum'bled mons'turd'...hehe)
--PinkPrincessAli
It's shiny like a beautiful present the dog left in the front yard on a hot and sunny day.
When I was a child, I thought Morla in "The Neverending Story" -- who, btw, TERRIFIED me way more than that fake-looking Gmork puppet -- lived in a giant pile of poop.
And that is why the last cake is awesome: Morla lives in it. And I'm not afraid of him anymore!!!
That fourth cake, it was one one nice looking MARBLE slab thingy! And even if it's not marble, it sure looks like it, and having marble-looking stuff is awesome. You know what else is awesome? Having a mirror behind your cake so you can see it from a different perspective! Seeing things from a different perspective is awesome!
I love your blog!
KristinB in WI
The last cake looks like solid chocolate to me. SOLID CHOCOLATE IS AWESOME.
It's so shiny! And shiny is awesome!
chocolate is good, especially when it is shiny :)
it's ... chocolate. :-) Here's your blindfold and a spoon!

The shiny chocolate coating will do an awesome job of keeping any dust from the delicious (hopefully)buttercream frosting beneath! - Casey Kippes
Say something good about that last cake? Why, you already did. I mean, you did say it was awesome to be regular right? This cake celebrates that joyful feeling!
You know that Mythbusters episode where they proved it was possible to put a high shine on a ball of giraffe poop.......
Just think of all the reading one could've accomplished while creating that last "cake"! And reading is awesome!
(I'm not the only one who reads on the toilet, am I?)
-Jake Nicodemus
jakenicodemus@yahoo.com
That last one is on a really nice cutting board! I am sure that will clean up well and be great for use of other things....like cutting meat or cheese or other non-yuck things.
Kara Jordan
Oh wow! That "corn cake" really did work! Cleans you right out! That is awesome!
<3,
Sara McKissack
One word: Chocolate. Chocolate is awesome.
A brown heap on marble in the afternoon is second only to a brown heap in porcelain in the morning.
also, something good is that I get to post another comment since I fogot to post my name. I think. I need some of that shiny, shiny chocolate since my brain power is fading. - Karen Jeanne
First, I am going to assume that those mounds on top are actually strawberries coverd in chocolate (please God let them be strawberries). This leads me to the comment that chocolate covered strawberries are awesome. Did you see the veins in that marble board? Awesome. And the nice display case? Those things aren't cheap and they went for the sleek black one. Good Job
And just for extra fun, on that first one, maybe the customer requested a cake with a shoe squished grasshopper on it :)
-much love, Rixie
JUST LOOK AT THE PLATE THEY CHOOSE TO PRESENT THE "CAKE" : isn't marble a wonderfoul*, fantastic, do I dare say it, AWESOME material ?
* I know there is a typo here, but I had to give an indication of how I feel about the "cake"
In honour of this morning's BM which the nurses at the hospital were chearing on after two weeks of constipation... we present you with this cake in honour of the occasion!!! Way to go!!!
Being in a class all your own. Words can't describe the, um, er, "beauty" of the cake....AWESOME!
The fact that it's not stuck to the bottom of my shoe...AWESOME!!!
The shiny chocolate coating will do an awesome job of keeping any dust from the delicious (hopefully)buttercream frosting beneath! - Casey Kippes
Look in the mirror - the back of that cake looks JUST like the front! Congruency is awesome!
Maybe a mystery cake but look at the skill of that baker/icer. They used just the right amount of warmed chocolate. It stopped before it ran off that marble piece. No dripping!!! Did I say awesome?
When two worlds collide....Winnie the Pooh (Poo) meets Willy Wonka....Ooompah Loompahs must have aided in making that 'honeychococombcake'. And without a doubt, Ooompah Loompahs & their creations are AWESOME! *Oompah Loompah doopity doo doo*
~Kim Anderson
How glossy, how magnificent! I have never seen a more avant-garde, boldly created masterpiece. While some may not appreciate it's unorthdox shape or it's daringly colored icing, those who think outside the "normal box" will see it's true beauty. *claps*
[Brenna Searcy]
I'm sure it would scare away any unwanted party guests with ease.
That last cake is obviously a fantastic attempt at making a cake shaped like a pile of half-melted raisinettes on top of a hocky puck. everybody wants a cake like that, right?
I am from Iowa, and that isn't corn, but it may be a pretty good photo of a corn oil slick.
I think one of our dogs did a "cake" like that in the backyard yesterday, though probably not as shiny. I'll go check and get back to you.
331 comments already? eff, i'm probably not even in the running, but here goes:
"Granite countertops! Everyone loves graininess countertops! And pure chocolaty goodness thrown in at no extra cost."
That cake will get you shitfaced, bite by bite. I bet they bought it at Butt Drugs.

Alana; member of the mole people clan from underneath the subway tunnels.
Whatever it is, it's shiny.
Really, really shiny.
I think we can all agree that perfectly round spots, void of any brown, sticky substance are awesome!
- Brenda
It's chocolate!
Right?
Probably?
Oooh ... look how shiny it is! I betthey used Lemon Pledge. Bunny
Making a cake with your feet is awesome!
Dave Johnson
It's reeeeeeeal shiny!
Or maybe (thinking like the optimist kid from that one story here) with all that crap there's just gotta be a pony in there somewhere!
-Allison E.
and yes folks, you do get this totally AWESOME marble cutting board free with the cake...do do wanna cake???
I am not funny. I am random. Please enter me in the 'random' drawing. Thanks. Cyndee
How the shiny icing showcases the "one of a kind" shape of this cake (and skills of the baker)and how the icing is defying the laws of physics by not dripping everywhere. That's awesome!!!
If you like a lot of frosting, this would be an awesome cake for you!
Jillian C
The Last Cake is Awesome because I looked at it and the Fir -- No, SECOND! Thing I though was that it looked like an Al-Muddi! And Al-Muddi are Cool!

~ Samantha Kauchis
The ganache is very shiny and smooth, it looks like it came out very easily. Of the piping bag that is.
The decorating area looks really clean! I wish my decorating area looked that clean when I was done making a cake!
It's chocolate.
Enough said.
The shiny cake is parked beside a mirror. The awesome thing about that is people will think there are TWO shiny cakes! AWESOME!!!!
Megan G
Gone are the days when you had to choose whether you wanted to attract ants OR flies. Now you can attract BOTH with one amazing cake! The ants are lured in by the taste and the flies get excited by the huge poop-pile look. Now that's progress! What will they come out with next? Road-kill CCC, anyone?
It's the lighting, that lighting is so bright it flat out melted that beautiful piece of..erh..um...cake? But on the BRIGHT side sure is shiny. @CakeAfide
Mmmm, Chocolate vomit! And everyone knows that ANYTHING covered with chocolate, is AWESOME! And well, if it just happens to be chocolate vomit covered awesome, well, then it's just AWESOME!
If you relax and stare at it intently for several seconds, you can see a mouse sitting on the back of a cow that is jumping over a flying musical note. It's trying to tell us something. Something important. Something beyond our understanding.
The last cake should have been #2.
Matt Davidson
Terri Johnson
Customer picking up cake, "...no! what asked for was a SHEET cake!"
That .... icing ... is so SHINY. I could see my reflection in it! And I could see if someone was sneaking up behind me with a matching CCC (ptooey!) in the attempt to smear it all over my face!!
And besides who doesn't love chocolate! that's chocolate, right?
Well, the sheen proves that yes, you, too CAN polish a turd! Affirmation that one can do the seemingly impossible is AWESOME!
Why can't it just be an awesome pile of steaming poop? If that's what they were going for, they did an awesome job because it looks exactly like a fresh pile of poopies.
I picture the camera zooming in on a teeny Julie Andrews singing "The hills are alive, with the sound of music . . . " Awesome!
BTW - Cake Wrecks is one of MY favorite things!
Susan B.
I think that last one is actually a brillantly scaled replica of the Cave of the Magestic Coiled Crap Hound. See that little spot on the left side? That's the entrance. Crap Hounds journey back to their cave every spring to frolic in the Font of Feculance and make little Crap Houndlets. So yes, it's really quite excellent.
Since I have one of those dime a dozen names, you can call me PikaJen. :)
Mmm... nice and smooth. If you're going to be creating a pile (of...frosting...) that large, you want it to be smooth. Otherwise, you could end up with a big mess and clog up the situation.
There are already 995 posts before me, so I don't envy their job of having to read every post. That said, here's my positive thought:
That cake decorator was so considerate to make a cake for one of the least thought of creatures in the animal kingdom - the Dung Beetle! I'm sure the dung beetle would be proud to roll pieces of that cake away.
This is a fudgy chocolate manifestation of the famous Japanese Lucky Poo! No kidding! Apparently the symbol for "lucky" in Japanese is very similar to the shortened form of the Japanese word for "poo." This cake is very lucky in Japan! Check out a keychain version of this cake here: http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/japanfan/9069/?cpg=wnrss&cpg=cj. Seriously, good things are going to happen if you eat this cake!
Look how thoroughly they coated it! They hardly missed any spots!
Cathie J
The cake HAS to taste better than it looks! Also, the coating does look like very tasty chocolate.
Sue KuKu
It's very well-formed. *nods solemnly*
(also, shiiiiiny)
Oh, um, well, its such a pretty color! And nice and shiny! And I'll bet it tasted pretty good, too.
The German Shepherd isn't constipated anymore! WOOHOO!
It is brown. And brown is currently a really trendy color. So, that is a really trendy cake, er . . . pie, er . . .

Well it's obvious that the last cake is awesome because of global warming... or is it climate change now?... well anyway, that cake demonstrates what will happen when the tempurature changes.
And let me tell you, here in Minnesota, where we fully expect to have more snow this year, I can't wait!
Marble makes anything more classy, immediately. Classy has 2 s's, and s's are fun because when you say in a raspy tone, you sound like a snake...which also starts with the letter s.
What other commonly used word starts with s? Sh*t, which is also a synonym for crap.
Letters and words are fun!
Bonus time: Pouring stuff is fun - imagine how much fun they had pouring that icing over that...cake-like..thing!
Bonus #2: Mix together the UPS slogan "What can brown do for you?" and Austin Powers "Who does #2 work for?" and I think the answer is...this cake.
(Also? I named my cat Awesome...so...maybe he needs a copy of a book with his name...in..it...")
It's chocolate! Nothing is more awesome than Chocolate no matter how disgusting it looks. Chocolate can some in handy in many situations. Everyone should have a mound of Chocolate on their marble slab.
It is reminiscent of the somewhat psychadelic animated commercial from when we were kids. "Whatever it is I think I see becomes a Tootsie Roll to me." It's awesome!
Melted Chocolate! Melted chocolate is so yummy. Tastes awesome.

Wow.
Well,
At least...
it's still chocolate!
And chocolate, my friends, in any shape (er, form) is AWESOME!
P.S.- Thanks for introducing us to that great site! What a truly "awesome" blog -pun intended, yeah. :)
Those roses must be antiques!

it looks the same going in as it will coming out. no false advertising = AWESOME
That is a lovely piece of marble! It would be perfect for rolling out delicious croissants, and since marble isn't porous it wouldn't retain any of the bleach I would have to soak it in before I'd let food touch it!

Christa Gaylor - This cake is full of the awesome! Just look at that shine factor. This has to be the shiniest cake I have ever seen. The shine looks delicious.
That is the shiniest pooorofessional cake ever! I wonder what flavor it is.
Fabulous post by the way. Since I give away and created the Box of Awesome, I should definitely get that matching book.
It's so brown! Like really, really uniformly brown.... and smooth. Very smooth. That application was pure skill!

It is chocolate-- that's a good thing, right?!
I bet eating a chocolate Budda would send you straight to Nirvana!

This pile of.... uh cake is very shiny. it's not steamy at all, just shiny. I believe if you looked close enough you could see your confused and contorted face.

It looks like a volcano with lava, albeit brown lava, sliding down from the top.
