Naked Mohawk-Baby Carrot Jockeys
Sunday, June 22, 2008
This cake is so disturbing, I'm almost glad the picture doesn't include the whole thing. The plastic clone babies wearing naught but mohawks are bad enough, but then they're also riding carrots. What do you do with that? It looks like some kind of perverted vegetable rodeo, or maybe a bizarre clone military exercise, what with their little plastic fists raised high in identical salutes.
And what kind of occasion calls for a "naked babies riding carrots" decor, anyway? No, wait, maybe I don't want to know...

What's a Wreck?
What's a Wreck?
A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.
Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Where's the book?
We don’t have any copies of Cake Wrecks for sale here, autographed or otherwise. We decided the shipping and handling costs would be too high to make it worth your while. So instead, buy your copies locally or online and then order personalized bookplates: it’s cheaper, easier, and I think even looks a bit nicer.

This may be the funniest caption
I have ever read. I am just glad I wasn't drinking milk at the time which would have spewed from my nose.
o.k I stumbled across your blog a couple of weeks ago and I just have to tell you how much you make me laugh - ALOT!!!
My husband and I are in the process of adopting internationally and it can be very stressful....now I can come to your blog and laugh my head off....it has been a great stress reliever....
Thank you!
haha!
I love you! This blog is hilarious ^
On the contrary, I think this cake is AWESOME and I am so making it for someone's birthday!
Carrot-riding mohawk babies, Happy Birthday!
Carrot-riding mohawk babies, Happy Thanksgiving!
Carrot-riding mohawk babies, Happy Arbor Day!
Fits every occasion!
Are they riding those carrots or humping them?
"perverted vegetable rodeo"...bahahahahaha! Just discovered your blog today...I'm only laughing until one of my cakes shows up.
Just tripped across your blog, and absolutely love it! (Glad none of mine are in here!) This baby/carrot thing you've got here, is an absolute riot!!
I think the cake itself is from Costco...they make a carrot cake that looks an awful lot like that...so the purchaser just added the babies....wow, I'm speechless!
I laughed for a solid 10 minutes, had to go into another room and do housework, in an attempt to stop laughing.
I haven't laughed this hard since SPY magazine was publishing on a regular basis.
Boy, that takes me back... to the final scene in "Dr. Strangelove"!
Oh my friend gave me this link and I have had a blast looking and reading now! OK this cake has got to be the funniest one I have seen!
I'm ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!
This blog is hysterical!
I LOVE IT!
One of the funniest things I've ever seen! The commentary is HILARIOUS! I agree with the first poster - I'm glad I wasn't eating or drinking milk - I would have done myself some harm. LOVE THE BLOG!
I laughed so hard I'm crying. I never knew carrot cake could be so funny.
I just found your blog today, and I love it. I cannot stop laughing at this caption. Unlike those lucky enough not to be drinking, I just had hot coffee come out of my nose. It burns, and yet, I can't stop laughing.
The best part? If there is in fact a similar cake at CostCo, I can add babies to it (which I already have because I find them hilarious to place on random cakes) and make this cake myself...so funny!
apparently, they're all 'BOY' babies!
Not to a kill-joy, but this is probably for Mardi-Gras. Although the baby should be hidden in the cake... Maybe its for the Blind!
I wet myself a little reading this...seriously, you should put a disclaimer on the site and advertise for Depends.
OMG! I was drinking coke when I saw this one. My nose is still stinging, so not fair! And I think that next time my friends ask me to make a carrot cake, I'll just lose it!
This is a fantastic site and my cheeks are so sore from laughing, keep up the chuckles. :0)
"What holiday?" you ask. Why of course it is in celebration of Aryan Baby Carrot-Humpers Day!
like they are training for when the carrots take over the world!
Omg, that's too funny!!!! Holy carrots, Baby! I am going to wake MY baby laughing this hard. Wow...so is this cake a play on words for baby carrots or something? Hilarious and random. Just how I like 'em.
Alright, apparently I'm not so stealthily reading blogs at work anymore, considering I just bust up laughing and everyone had to come over and see what I'm doing. Damnit. But SO worth it.
The last poster said she was afraid she'd wake up her baby.
Well, I woke up mine! :D Gods, I laughed so hard my stomach hurts. Just found this blog today and I am DYING. (do they make a cake for that?)
I'm planning a baby shower and I needed a theme.
Done and done!
I've had to leave the room TWICE to keep from peeing myself! My cats are all, "The hell?! Mom's squeaking and falling over sideways - hmm, she must be watching Eddie Izzard again."
"Perverted vegetable rodeo"?! Please:
1. Write books
2. Be my friend?
I have no idea why all those little Chuck Liddells have carrots in the mount position, but if this is what the Iceman wants for his birthday, are you gonna argue with him?
Yup, that is definitely a Costco carrot cake. You too can have this cake, just pick up a Costco carrot cake and grab 24 tiny naked babies from Dollar Giant!
We can stop looking now; we have found our wedding cake.
Seriously though, I can't stop laughing at this. :D
For this you belong in the Blogger Hall of Fame.
Brilliant.
If this blog displayed this as a video, I would hope that either Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" or Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" would be played in the background for this.
Yee-ha! Ride 'em cowbaby!
This is like some strange sci-fi cake - I can't stop laughing!
Love this site!!! I laughed until I turned purple.
Ohmygod. I just found your blog today and am now going by and reading your blogs.
I literally spit coke everywhere, and my nose is burning. And I have tears streaming down my face.
And then I decided to read the comments, and took a sip a coke, and ended up spewing it everywhere.
Again.
Keep up the awesome blog. <3
What is wrong with this cake? It will the talk of the town at the 12th Annual Perverted Vegetable Rodeo and Auction in October.
We would love to have you as our Master (or would it be Mistress?) of Ceremonies. Last year, Perez Hilton was Queen of Ceremonies and look how it launched his career...I bet you land a sweet job at the Food Network hosting your own show with a great commenting panel:
Mary Alice- "Ace of Cakes"
Chelsea Handler- "Chelsea Lately"
Kimjohannes-"30316"(hip Atlanta zip)
Michael K.- "dlisted.com"
Kathy Griffin- "My Life on the D LIST"
You Made My Day!! :-)
(cheered me up when I have been in bed with a viral throat infection for the past week) I have great pictures if anyone needs to make a cake that looks like infected tonsils!
I too laughed till tears ran down my face! But then, I looked at the picture again, and started wondering ... why aren't there naked mohawk babies on ALL the carrots? Are there seven for some significant reason? WTH? I can only hope that the originator of this cake will come forward to answer these (and other) burning questions.
Love your blog!
"Perverted vegetable rodeo" is the best phrase I've heard all day, or maybe ever.
This is the funniest thing I've ever seen, and the blog title is the second funniest.
I've just laughed until I cried. Literally - I've got tears in my eyes.
Could it be someone's attempt at a Chinese New Year cake?
Chubby babys riding something symbolic [usually a boy with a fish or rooster] is a standard Chinese NY symbol. There are baby dolls like this - with the hand aloft gesture and stylized hair- available in the Chinatown supermarket nearest me.
Why carrots though, no idea.
Also apologies if this posts twice
Wow oh wow. DIsturbing.
I think it was for a brit milah, AKA a 'bris'!!
OMG!
Between the image of the cake itself, the title, and comments such as
"Aryan Baby Carrot-Humpers Day!" and "perverted vegetable rodeo", I haven't laughed so hard since...
...the fireman cake?
I've been laughing an awful lot since discovering this blog. Keep up the good work.
Why am I suddenly hearing an Austrian-accented voice in my head saying 'sometimes a carrot is just a carrot, but hoo boy! this is not one of them!'
Thanks for brightening my day...and no doubt a great many days to come!
My sister sent me a link to your blog, and I've just shared it with my co-workers. These are some of the funniest things I've seen in a long time!
Wow, this has to be the best cake of them all. I love how the babies have their fists raise. Truly a gem.
OMG! I think you can officially start a collection of comments that involve people almost spewing beverages because of the insane hilarity of cakes and captions. I'm in my cube (looking at your blog is a very serious part of my daily work), taking a sip of my frappuchino, when--all of a sudden--I decide it would be a great idea to click on "Naked Mohawk-Baby Carrot Jockeys." Little did I know what lay in store. Seconds later, I'm simultaneously choking on my beverage, trying not to laugh out loud, and tears are streaming down my face. This is one of the most genious entries ever. I'm also convinced that the rigorous symetry of the cake has to have some significant meaning. Maybe so that the cake can be sliced and EVERYONE can have their own little piece of "Naked Mohawk-Baby Carrot Jockeys"?
What a great phrase to memorize: Naked Mohawk-Baby Carrot Jockeys". I will be trying to work that into casual conversation now.
As Dave Berry used to say, that would be a great name for a band!
"Why am I suddenly hearing an Austrian-accented voice in my head saying 'sometimes a carrot is just a carrot, but hoo boy! this is not one of them!'"
Twister, your comment made me laugh so so much.
I've actually laughed so hard that I'm now crying...thanks!
OMG! I am laughing so hard right now! Even though the picture is funny by itself, the caption and your wit make it even better! I couldn't even read it to my husband I was laughing (& crying) so hard!
OMG! This has got to be my favorite of the posts. Looking at this one alone (well, it's really reading the captions) makes me instantly start crying with laughter. Hilarious.
I have to disagree as I think this cake is just f'king fantastic.
OMG...I just want to let everyone know Dr Pepper burns coming out the nose also...Im so glad I found this blog!! Thanks for the 440 am giggles
ROFLMTO!!! I only needed to glance at that photo and I burst out laughing! Then I looked at it properly and went apopleptic! (Is that even a word?) And the caption! It keeps going through my head like one crazy word! Oh, no! Here it is again - Nakedmohawkbabycarrotjockeys! Aaaahhahahahahahaha!
What really makes this one gold for me is the style of photo, all down at the mohawk-baby level, up close and personal. You can see how the naked mohawk-babies have been squished into their little carrot saddles. Priceless. Whoo boy.
This, pun intended, takes the cake. How creative must one be to come up with the idea of carrot riding mohawk sporting nekkid plastic babies??? Was the mom to be like a carrot farmer or something. And why the cheap out of only buying 7 carrot riding mohawk sporting nekkid plastic babies? This is so weird in so many ways!
This may be the funniest cake I have ever seen... I've got to find those little plastic babies to put on my next cake.
There is a small spelling error in your post, though... "occasion" should have two C's and one S.
I am practically CHOKING from laughing so hard! I can't breathe and tears are streaming down my face!! My coworkers must be wondering what's wrong with me. Oh my gosh, I haven't laughed that hard in a loooooong time. Freaking fabulous.
Cake? Oh. I thought this was a still from the Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremonies.
This is what you call someone in charge of a baby shower forgot to order the cake... so they went to costco, the only one available was a carrot cake and they threw some babies on there... they look as though they are bullriding!
oh holy jeebus. i about lost it. i'm so disturbed. this is like a bad 80s japanese music video gone even wronger than originally intended. whyyyyyy? i.just.don't.get.it. carrots? babies?
*breathe*
I think I get it. Both the babies and the carrots represent newness; the harvest, celebration. It is only fitting that they should be paired in what looks to be the ultimate Easter/Spring joyful cake of happybabyness. Harrah!
I need to stop smoking stuff before reading this blog.
Don't you see people? It's not necessarily SEVEN babies, though that's how many are shown...It's a Naked Mohawk Baby on every other carrot! It's a pattern!!!
Best cake ever AND BEST BLOG EVER!
_Steph
Hi- I really like it! really funny and entertaining. I will make it point to stop by! thanks
This should absolutely be for a bris (Jewish circumcision ceremony)!
Mr T approves of this cake wreck I pity da fool who doesn't love carrot cake with mohawk baby jockies.
Seriously tho I think I snorted laughing at this omfg soooooooooooooo funny.
I just came across this blog from The Consumerist and am making my way (teary-eyed from crying) through the whole thing. This? Oh, this is now my new desktop wallpaper.
Holy Beta Carotene Batman! It's the Travis Bickle Baby Carrot Brigade arriving in full force. Beware the Marauding Mohawked Munchkins!
Maybe they're ttc? Heh.
OK, I'm only drinking water and it didn't come out my nose. I laughed so hard it came out, well, I, er... leaked!
Jen, you are absolutely hilarious and so are all the comments. I'm sending this out in my daily email blast tomorrow. Goes out to about 1,700 foodies who know that nothin' goes better with carrots than mohawk wearin', fist raisin', rodeo lovin', naked, plastic Aryan infants on their way to a Bris!
Love it. Thanks for the fodder for my email blast.
You crack me UP! I have forwarded your blog to many friends with a warning not to have any liquid in their mouth so they don't SPEW!
HILARIOUS!!
Whenever I need a good laugh...I just come take a peek! FUNNY!!
But why...? WHY must the babies have mohawks???
LOL!! I just found your blog this morning (via the Sexual Harrasment cake), and I love it. It's a SCREAM!
Terri
Haha, this looks like something out of an 80's music video... I want a cake like this for my next birthday.
LMAO
I love your blog & read it all the time for a good laugh. The first time I found it my 3 year old saw this and said, "Mommy, why are the babies riding carrots?" I could only say, "I have no idea!"
Not only is this is probably the most ridiculous cake design I've ever seen, it (along with the caption) also provoked the longest laugh I've had in a long time! :-) Too good!
Clearly this was for the opening ceremonies for the Beijing Olympics. :)
Another inappropriate baby shower cake? What better way to say "I hope you have multiple punk babies with unhealthy addictions to phallic foodstuffs".
I know I already commented, but I have a second-hand comment: I posted a link to this cake at a forum, and someone there said it looked like a cheesy '80s punk rock album cover. :-) (I tend to agree.)
I think this is a Sandra Lee, Semi Homemade, recipe that didn't make the tablescape...
oh.. my.. god..
The babies in question here, are actually supposed to be used in King Cakes, these are done leading up to Fat Teusday, during mardi-gras, etc.
Obviously, this bakery(I can only assume) had too many babies left over and viola!
Love the blog!
Keep the wreck rolling!!
Where can I find those babies? A quick search online found nothing but actually CUTE babies--I need the NMBCJs to be authentic for my friend Mike's cake.
I just thought ya know when kids blow out the candles in a cake and then they like to lick the iceing off the cake?Just imagine how they have to clean off those baby clones.
I really love that photo thought it was funny.^^
I was doing fine until this one. For some reason this one elicited the painful, choking, can't catch my breath, tears streaming down my face laughter reaction.
Thank you.
definitely one of the weirdest cakes I have ever seen...LOL
So it's not often I get to read a blog with the phrase "perveted vegetable rodeo" in it. Fabulous blog I've nearly died reading it.
I've been browsing for a while, but this is definitely my favorite post.
My stomach hurts from laughing so hard...or maybe it's from all that frosting.
Keep up the good work!
-Samantha K.
Yes I'd like to order a "pre-sliced" carrot cake. Oh and since it's for a baby shower could you put little babies on some of the slices? THANKS! I'll pick it up on Saturday!
It still gets me every time!
I have just laughed my way through the cake picture and comments. You should write a book!
I now have the perfect Happy 40th Anniversary gift ever! My husband's humor is already the best. With this he will be armed for the next 40 years...Thank you for the "gift that keeps on giving"!
Boring person here:
my guess is, a Chinese baby shower
with good-luck symbols for a male
infant.
Wow, this is the funniest caption I've read. Ever. I was eating a cinnamon bun with icing at the time I read it and it exploded all over the screen.
If there ever were something that you truly appreciated, this is it...
It's life changing really... For all future cake-needing occasions, I will, at random, pick two 'things' at random, and combine them into such a masterpiece as this one is.
For example, and to make it un-biased, and thus, potentially, hopefully, almost as funny... http://watchout4snakes.com/creativitytools/RandomWord/RandomWordPlus.aspx
And, the first two that seem to fit the 'things' category will be it.
My first two: boat & cat
And to honor this cake, I'll always, at a 45 degree angle, have the larger, riding the smaller, en masse.
It is a cake revolution.
It's a vegan punk fertility cake.
I can think of what happened. Its just speculation, of course.
"I want a carrot cake with babies on it."
*arrives at home from the bakery, takes the box into the kitchen, puts the box onto the counter, and lifts the lid*
...!
What in leaping jackalopes is this!?
Hence, yet another misinterpreted order.
I know what occasion calls for naked babies riding on carrots, the BEST day of the year: January 26: Ellen DeGeneres' birthday
I just discovered this hilarious blog today, courtesy of the National Post newspaper. I have a bunch of those little plastic babies too!! Only they have little angel wings and glow in the dark. I think they are supposed to hang from a Christmas tree. Would they ever look great glowing in the dark while riding these sugar carrots on top of a cake .....
Oh dear god.....
V. disturbing indeed....
Carrot cake is going to be forever ruined for me.
XD
I see 11 babies and it is a pattern duh
The babies' hair looks like a variety of pubic hair "styles". From the rather dated, boomer style triangle (a moot point perhaps, as they're all busy loosing those triangles to the ravages of age) to the "runway". No bald/ "Brazilian" babies in sight, though. ?
A caveat to those whom might be "offended":
Babies and ladies'pubic regions/ love 'n marriage/ horse 'n carriage.....
like that. you get it.
This is a total scream. So glad I stumbled across you.
I've made some shocker cakes in my time and am glad that (I hope) there is no photographic evidence!
after screams from 3 teens, I didn't think I would ever laugh again...until CW came along. food dye has taken on a whole new meaning. please, don't ever go away.
MaryKathleen
Someone is watching too much "Wheel of Fortune" -- it's a "Before & After" puzzle.
The cake -- is a Baby Carrot Cake.
I thought EVERYONE knew that babies come from the vegetable patch! Clearly this is a cake meant for some lady who has used miracle-gro on hers.
My face is numb from laughing so hard at this cake and the comments. "perverted vegetable rodeo" bwahahaha. That's amazing.
What is this for Ron Jeremy's grandson? The baby recipient of this cake has some serious shoes to fill.. if you know what I mean!
P.S. stumbled across your blog and it's to die for!!
You have me laughing so hysterically I'm crying Jen! Thank you for your blog. And BTW, I absolutely LOVE this cake and your caption is priceless! (Natasha in CA)
Ok, my husband comes home from work with this site I just have to see-I'm like, WTH, I am trying to make dinner for 2 kids, already 6:30 pm on a school night, yatta yatta...so my computer geek hubbie (IT guy for his company) goes into my living room, turns on the Linux machine he has connected to our 50" HD plasma tv, and puts this cake on the screen. I hear, from the kitchen, my two girls in hysterical laughter, calling, "Mommy, you have to see this!" Can you possibly imagine the look on my face when I see HD Naked Mohawk-Baby Carrot Jockeys four feet across???? Needless to say, dinner was late, and we had the best dinner conversation EVER, trying to figure out that insanely funny cake! My kids were convinced that it had to be something from one of the many sci-fi shows we watch-my 11 year old thinks she saw Capt Kirk fight them once-or maybe Mr Spock was crying over them-picture it: Mr Spock, hands on cake, face screwed up in concentration as he mind-melds with the cake...."Ohhh, the agony!! The agony!!!".....Thank you for providing me with a new place to go to to lighten up my day-who cares what the economy is doing--this will absolutely take your mind off of it!
Oh, and thank you for the perfect idea of a cake to bring to the inlaws for Easter-they will never ask us to bring dessert again!!!
OK, it's almost a year, what the heck is the story here??? Who's cake was this and why???
I love the cake, but I'm not sure about the T-Shirts - specifically, the "it's all fun and games..." and "Wreck On" taglines.
It's a Naked Mohawk-Baby Carrot Jockey. It doesn't need a reason. Does it need need a caption? Surely, like "I want sprinkles", it speaks for itself?
Like Michelangelo's David, it is such a powerful work of art that it could surely go unadorned? Surely, it needs nothing more than its own name to grace it:
Naked Mohawk-Baby Carrot Jockey.
Actually, this was just a long winded way to suggest a T-Shirt variation.
lol! i have to admitt it's funny but i mean not trying to ruin the laughs , but for what acassion exactly would you need a little mohawk baby humping a carrot it makes no since! like how many everyday people go up to a person and are like "HAPPY BIRTHDAY I GOT YOU A CAKE ITS A HUMPING A CARROT MOHAWK BABY HOPE YOU INJOY IT!" name one person and my case is closed :)
Imagine the look on the new mother to be's face when her baby shower cake was carrot, as she had asked for.
But it was topped with naked mohawk babies. OY.
The tears.. the drama. The photography. LOL.
www.kellikolz.blogspot.com
Oh my god!!! That one might be worse than the Santa Claus caterpillar monstrosity.
Side note: I should stop reading your blog during class: everyone looks at me weird when I'm failing to suppress uproarious laughter.
i think them raising their fists makes them look more like they're saying YEEHAW.
"Perverted Vegetable Rodeo" -- a great name for a rock band!
This is one of the funniest damn things I've seen on this site...naked babies with mohawks riding carrots. It had to happen.
maybe carrots are good for your eyes, and for soothing diaper rash?
Naked Mohawk-baby Carrot Jockeys would be a great name for a band.
my best friend showed me this link and i just had to check this out!!!
and it was so funny that i knocked the cat sitting in my lap to the floor!!
im so gona email this link to all my friends!!!
I have been gasping for breath between now-hoarse laughs and squeals for ten minutes at this point. I am wiping tears from my eyes between sentences. When I first read the caption, I actually peed my pants. I am going to follow your blog forever, and recommend it to anyone I know who needs to laugh until they pee - which is just about anyone.
my god, this made me laugh SO HARD.
As does everything on the site.
You guys are awesome.
Breaking News: Naked Baby Carrot Jockeys have been sighted Down Under!
My work friends know there is nothing that makes me laugh out loud/wheeze except Cake Wrecks. So to amuse me (and I imagine to they could witness me laughing so hard I cried) this is what I was confronted with when I came into work this morning. Available in gluten-free or non-gluten free versions. http://www.flickr.com/photos/cragg-ohlsson/3669975994/
I just cried.... and peed myself. At the same time.
I have just spent the past 4 hours reading this blog and I can't stop!!!
Thank you for Cake Wrecks!!!
My 13yo son just said the following about this cake and I quote: "Eww. They're sitting on carrots naked. With their nakedness. Who would want to put that in their mouths? If that's how people have fun these days by making us eat carrots with naked babies on them, then that is just wrong. Eww."
my word verif: comar. I would have to be in a comar to eat a piece of this cake.
Don't read this blog while in the Library.
this is so funny! Maybe the cake was for Nadya Suleman's (the woman who had 8 babies)baby shower.
Some reservations have anti-diabetes campaigns nowadays which include "eat your vegetables," but that still wouldn't explain the cake part.
This is obviously the shower cake for Dr. Strangelove's wife and she is having octuplets!
Maybe it was for Octomom?
I'll bet it's carrot cake.
Still unpleasant, but that's what the carrot means. :)
Maybe the customer ordered a baby carraige cake and it turned out to be a baby carrot cake.
When I have a baby, I am going to ask for a 3D cake for my shower. A carved carrot with a naked baby riding on it. Just for you Jen. :D
LOL! My friends treated me to a re-creation of this one tonight! OHMYWORD!!! TOO fun!
I was doing okay with the Carrot Jockeys until I read somebody's suggestion that "Ride of the Valkyries" be playing. Then I lost it!
Angela, Piano Lady
This remains my favorite cake-wreck of all time! I'm glad the naked mohawk baby carrot jockeys appear in your header now too!
Kubrick anyone?
These are obviously young trainees for the riding on the A-Bomb brigade!
i dont see the problem here, its a really funny cake that, obviousley, was ment to be funny anyway. congrats to the cook from me!!!
This is making me laugh so hard right now!
No, seriously... what was the occasion?

Cake, Cookie & Candy Making > Babies
These babies make a good party favor at a baby shower. Put them in treat bags, on cakes, cupcakes and much more. Use them for other craft projects as well.

Think it is a bit scary that the naked mohawk babies are sold specifically to put on cakes
Lisa N
I just found this page and am laughing so hard I am crying. I too can't imagine the occasion that calls for this cake - but I am making one the next time someone asks for a carrot cake at a babyshower!
OMG! Hilarious!! Okay, after I wiped the tears from my eyes, I began to wonder "what was the original motivation for this cake?" My best guess, is that this is the visual representation of some young lady's nightmare of being pregnant with her mohawked, carrot farming boyfriend's baby. Just a hypothesis... lol :) - Frank
I will have to admit...I actually rather like this cake. Surreal. And rather well executed. Makes me think of Archie McPhee stuff. Mock me if you must, but I like it.
To help redeem myself, I have nearly had an aneurism or two laughing at some other cakes and captions.
No matter how many times I look at this, I still crack up laughing! And since the naked mohawk baby carrot jockeys have now made it into the site's header...
I saw your book at B&N this weekend, and I'm so glad I decided to check out your site!
This cake coupled with all of the comments has kept me giggling for several minutes now. My husband just walked by, and I showed it to him, and while trying to explain I burst out into full-on peels of laughter. I final just gave up.
Please, keep up the good work!
I wish I had the decorations to recreate this, this week. I'm making a double batch of my somewhat famous, heart-attack inducing carrot cake (more fat by weight than flour, but trust me, it's good).

I know!! It's for a bris!!!
This is so my desktop background now. Thanks for the high res version!
I believe this is a congratulatory Vegan Vasectomy Cake.
I think it's really quite "adorable"
That is beyond weird. However it's the upraised hand that makes it for me!
A baby shower for a couple who breed like rabbits?
This is clearly in honor of the veterans of infant vegetable wars. And in proper infant vegetable war veteran style, the inside of the cake is made out of a root vegetable. What kind? It's part of the surprise! Of course, the mohawks are totally random. Everybody knows that they had mullets.
I kept saying "naked Mohawk babies riding carrots" out loud, faster and faster, to see if there was any hidden message, a Beatles song, you name it. No such luck! I pray it doesn't haunt my dreams...
i laughed so hard for a ridiculous amount of time when i saw this... i almost peed myself and feel off my stool simultaneously.
this made my day. thank you!! i want this cake for my birthday.
My choir teacher showed me this blog and I absolutely love it. It makes me laugh so much!
Sometimes the mystery is better left unknown, but this appears to be as some posters above noted, a baby shower cake improvising traditional Asian New Year's imagery...gone horribly and hilariously awry.
The baby riding an orange carp in the New Year's panels (bottom row, 2nd from the right) is posed like the mohawked carrot jockeys on the cake with the arms upraised with one straight up and the other out perpendicularly. The carp's tail fans out similarly to the carrot's green top. The magpies, the chubbiness of the baby, and the fish are auspicious emblems of a new year.

Someone gave my sister-in-law a carrot cake for her birthday recently. We were disappointed that there where no naked baby mohawked carrot jockeys on it.
I was wondering what to request for my 46th birthday. I will look no further.
Thank you for your sparkly blog!
My guess would be that it is one of those premade carrot cakes with the carrot decor to say what it is exactly. Someone got lazy at a baby shower and thought "Oh! I know how to make it perfect for a baby shower! Put these little plastic mohawk babies on some of the carrots! It will be so cute!" Whoever it was cheated and should be shot. ;)
I love this blog!! You have made my day!! I have laughed so hard that I cannot even finish all of your pages yet!! What a wonderful treat to look forward too! Your captions turn it from funny to hysterically funny! Thanks for quality laughter!!!
didn't mean to be anonymous, just punched the send button too fast!
I love the archives!! Your blog is always guaranteed to make me laugh since discovering it a little while ago. THANK YOU for keeping some easy links like "the classics" around for newcomers like me. Friggin hilarious!
Not that's what I call a carrot cake!!!
They're alien babies, riding into the earth's cities on their flying rocket-carrots, ready to take over our world. And force us to drink carrot juice! We must fight back against this orange menace! D:
looks like something from The Wall, Mel Brooks-style.
This website is such a great mood lifter!

Holy baloney, they're still commenting on this post!
I forgot how I even came across your blog, which of course you know is insane (you definitely have found a niche here).
All I can say is, thank G-d I don't bake--because they'd all turn out like these...
Baby Carrots. That is my guess for the explanation of this cake.
It's my favourite cake in the world.
Naked Babies are bad ENOUGH, but riding on carrots! GROSS
P.S
I : ) Cake Wrecks!
maybe they just needed a quick baby shower cake and this was the best they could do! i love it!!!
hahaha Who? What? Why?..would you make this????? lol This is so funny! xx
This HAS to be the best cake wreck in the history of history. in 30 years it will probably still make people spew milk out their noses with laughter! I know it will for me
