So grab the kids, significant others, and/or cubicle mates, and get ready to start cranking out your very own Wrecks! Then print them out and decorate the fridge. Because, no, you are NOT too old for that.
Many "thanks" to J Rose, whose artistic genius is surpassed only by her impeccable taste in blogs.
Fun! now I'm going to use every one of those decorations and make the wreckiest cake ever!
ReplyDeleteThis rawks!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun!
ReplyDeleteSadly, anything I can do with this game would still look better than the mess I'd make with real icing.
I *LOVE* this!!
ReplyDeleteIs it wrong that when I saw the font used for the alpha/numeric characters the first thing I wanted to write was, "Suck it, Trebek"?
Also, I wish there was a way to share my "creations" with friends...
What a riot! Thanks J Rose!
ReplyDeleteVirtual cake and more wrecks!!!!!!!!!!! Winnah :)
ReplyDeleteSo much awesomeness!
ReplyDelete@Ellen: it's okay to make a mess with real icing when you're having fun at home, especially with your family. You just don't sell it, that's all. :)
Experiment with cake, have fun, make a wreck, then eat the evidence! Nom nom nom!
frig magnet play time!
ReplyDeleteHey you were joking but I'm a tay at home mom. My 3 yr old will LOVE this.
ReplyDeleteThat is not nearly enough sprinkles. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo.Much.Fun! Envious of J.Rose's talent and creativity, too. Yay Saturday surprise!
ReplyDeleteBest start to a Saturday Work day I have had in so many days.
ReplyDeleteLike I've got time to waste on something...like......thhhh...
ReplyDeletec-o-n-g-r-a-d-i-l-a-s-h-u-n-s
So much fun!
ReplyDeleteOK, this is great fun! I'm totally bonding with my 9 yr. old with this. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteExcellent!
ReplyDeleteTime for a lesson on how to share your creation in Windows:
1. Click and keys at same time.
2. Click in lower left corner, then , then , then
3. Click inside the white box
4. Click in upper left corner, then
5. Click in upper left corner, then , then
6. Type in the name of your creation
7. Click
Your creation is now saved (probably in My Pictures) and can be shared with the world just like a photograph.
That concludes our computer class for today.
Wow!Thanks for making such a cool, wrecky game! That totally rocks!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for making such a great game, way fun!
ReplyDeleteAll we need now is a CCC version of this game. Not that CCC's need any help being wrecky and echhy.
ReplyDeleteL.B.
FABULOUS!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat does it say about me that the first cake I made was completely obscene?
ReplyDeleteFUN!
Lots of fun, and I could see this becoming a real game -- maybe a card game where you have to collect/swap "parts" to make a cake(wreck)!
ReplyDeletewv: mistuash - Bob has a beard, but I'm growing a mistuash.
This is amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhy can't I do it :( so sad.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful! I love it!
ReplyDeleteSharing is easy with a screenshot:

(No, I'm not spamming you, it's just the pic of my wreck).
Cmon! I need WAY more poo swirls! ;D
ReplyDeleteSO MUCH AWESOME
ReplyDeleteYou just made my day!
ReplyDeleteCarrot Fight
ReplyDelete"There was peace in the little valley, where the moose frolicked among the trees and babies with their llamas freely roamed the land. But, all that changed as the carrot jockies descended their pink stairways to rain doom upon them all...and also sprinkles."
On a game dev note, at first I was bummed that you only get 1 of every letter, so you can't repeat an r for the word "carrot"...but then I realized that having to omit or substitute letters is half the wrecky goodness.
I WANT SPRINKLES!!! I can't get the sprinkles to move. Other stuff, yes, but not sprinkles! NO FAIR!!!
ReplyDeleteJ Rose is Awesome!
ReplyDeleteYou have to grab the sprinkles in just the right spot.
ReplyDeleteIt needs more sprinkles, though.
This was awesome! I've got the carrot jockeys on the stairs and the moose pooping... not enough poop swirls... love this! really should be a game...
ReplyDeleteWooHoo!! Wrecky game!!
ReplyDeleteDo we get extra points if we use everything available??
wv: imenedn
imenedn some more sprinkles :-)
Bwaahahahaa! I wanted the baby to ride the moose thing, but the baby shows up behind it. Then I realized the moose could ride the baby, and it was so much better. Thanks! Lol!

ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!!!
ReplyDeleteSO AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteThis was amazing. I had fun. :)
ReplyDelete...is that an alpaca? It just so happens I used to be a professional alpaca-sitter. i want a real alpaca cake.
ReplyDeletehow cakewreckorically poetic that you must figure out how to spell your wreckie message using each letter only once!
ReplyDeletehow very frustrating that I cant seemed to get the sprinkles to drag onto my cake....
My 5 year old LOVES this!
ReplyDeleteAww, J Rose is awesome! Thanks for sharing your talent here. That was fun!
ReplyDeletethis makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteFor those people having trouble moving the sprinkles, I know, I tried really hard to make them movable! I added the giant white sprinkle in the bottom left corner as a handle to get them to move more easily.
ReplyDeleteThis is my second drag-and-drop game ever. I'll do better next time!
And thanks for the love for the parts that work how I wanted them to! =D
Cake Wrecks: The Board Game!
ReplyDeleteJust needs some cupcakes and big chocolate chip cookies! Carrot Jockeys that face either direction! Crazy sprinkles! Scary icing roses!
Cardboard cakes, static sticker decorations! Add a timer and you're set!
this ROCKS!
ReplyDeletemy vote is for card game, I think
-Barbara Anne
SUCH fun!
ReplyDeleteI adore my King Carrot-Jockey baby, whose crown is exploding a la Miss United States in "Miss Congeniality."
More, please!
need more poo roses :p
ReplyDeleteDang. I wanted more poo for my cake. :(
ReplyDeleteCakeWrecks game FTW!!! w00t!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful. I made a world-class wreck on my first try even though I ran out of Naked Mohawk Baby Carrot Jockeys very quickly. Thanks for creating it.
ReplyDelete(A couple of extra alphabets, preferably in colors that clash with the pink, would be helpful in misspelling words with repeat letters.)
@ JRose: Thank you for the sprinkles tip - knowing about the "handle" sprinkle made my life much easier!
ReplyDelete. . . although my "I want sprinkles cake" was still much too tasteful - must go and try again!
yay! I'm devoting Saturday to this.
ReplyDeleteSo gun!!
ReplyDeletePure genius!
ReplyDeleteIs there anyone who can give me easy directions on how to save my cake (think 5 year old computer comprehension...) I couldn't get Tricia's directions to work...
ReplyDelete@Kimberly - oh, I know. I've made some wrecky things in the past, and am happy that nobody is expected to pay for them!
ReplyDeleteMy family is mostly from the "as long as it tastes good" school of thought, so nobody's disappointed.

Fun! Mine is the worst wreck you have ever seen...
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant. For the next upgrade, may I suggest the ability to upload an image of your wreck to Facebook and other social media sites, just so everyone can see how retarded you are.
ReplyDeleteI was making the worst cake I could possible imagine when my 4 year old walked up and said, "Mommy, it needs more sprinkles."
ReplyDeleteWINNING.
I wish there was an option to share my creation on my blog. You can never have too many babies flying on carrots.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this! It's awesome and so much fun!
ReplyDelete:D
I'm definitely creating some wrecks of my own that I'll save (via the Snipping Tool on my PC) that I'll share with friends and family on their special occasions. :)
DAng it. My wreck is a wreck... no matter what I do, it STILL turns out pretty (er than any of the blogged wrecks in the past)
ReplyDeleteSO funny...
And so unfair... It won't let me put on the sprinkles. I WANT SPRINKLES!!!!!!
I made myself my very own "YOTH" cake! I'm so excited!
ReplyDeleteThis is great fun, thank you! I made a delicious creation with sunflowers, the trees and reindeer, and the fountain shooting from the top! Clearly, I have the heart of a true Wreckinator.

Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteThat is the most awesome idea! I'll have to bookmark this specific post so I can come back and make a wreck whenever I feel like it!
ReplyDeleteGreat fun! Thanks for sharing with us frustrated Wreckers!
ReplyDeleteSweet! Thanks so much J. Rose! Imagine the possibilities...like a cake that says "I want sprinkles" on one tier and "'Good luck'" on another...
ReplyDeleteSo awesome!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, J Rose!
ReplyDeleteThis could be a cool online game -- people could take turns being the wreckerator, while messages from 'customers' are randomly garbled to simulate the order-taking process. (Bonus points for messages that are factually questionable, because most people see humor in that stuff.)
Note: such wrecky elements as 'balloons', fondant cracks and indecipherable script can be added freehand to a screen capture in Paint or other drawing program.
I was kind of offended that there are no beads and no way to know whether the cake is baked or deep-fried, but I got over it before I finished typing this sentence.
wv: dinis "Everybody walk the dinisaur!"
This is awesome! How is this possible on a blog? I'm blown away by the technology.
ReplyDeleteMy word verification is "duche"!! Love it.
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome!
ReplyDeleteAnother idea: A make-your-own-Wrecks fridge magnet set using those thin cling-type magnets.
So much fun! I want it ALL on my birthday cake!
ReplyDeleteNow, this is effing AMAZING! I'm not even gonna go to work today. :-p AWESOME job!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!
ReplyDeleteThis could so be a magnet game, like the magnetic Disney Princess dress-up dolls...I'd totally buy a CW magnet game to put on my fridge!
ReplyDeletewhere do I go to get the game?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't find the game. Does anyone know what day it's from?

A quicker, less-invasive OBGYN visit.
For some reason, your program deleted the keys to press for saving the screen shots (see 10:32am). Apparently it doesn't like the less-than and greater-than symbols. Let's try again:
ReplyDelete1. Click Fn and Prnt Screen keys at same time.
2. Click Start in lower left corner, then All Programs, then Accessories, then Paint
3. Click inside the white box
4. Click Edit in upper left corner, then Paste
5. Click File, then Save As, then JPG
6. Enter a file name, then click Save.
Feedback to the artist: The sprinkles would be easier to use if you brush a transparent layer behind it in the group or "clickable" zone.
ReplyDeleteGreat work! This is really wonderful! Magnificent job, J. Rose!
ReplyDelete--kate
Hehehe! That just made my morning!
ReplyDeleteThat was really fun.
ReplyDeletewv: chealt--I see a wreck in this word's future: "Congaratalations on not chealting on the Spelling Be!"
Fun! Love it!
ReplyDeleteIn the words of our 2nd favorite over-exposed Hollywood jerk...Duh! WINNING! :) Seriously. I love the little bitty carrot jockeys!
ReplyDeletecrable: Baby shower Wreck - "When the wind blows the crable will rock"
I need to try this some where with flash.
ReplyDeleteNow how clever is that?!! Now, you need a Cake Wrecks APP! I'd buy it!! :)
ReplyDeleteWreck on!

BEST game EVER! I LOVE IT!!!
ReplyDeleteI see a "Stairway to Sprinkle Heaven" cake in my future.
ReplyDeleteThanks J. Rose.
So fun!
ReplyDeleteHoly crap! This is so fun! I'm going to play it ALL day!
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteBut needs more accidental peen.
If only I could see it on my computer ... :(
ReplyDeleteThis would make the most amazing Colorforms...I'd buy them!
ReplyDeleteI made a passive-aggressive baby shower cake:
